Synda Fam is a Toronto-born and raised collective of young creatives and entrepreneurs pushing global outreach through music, fashion, design, and showing up for the community that raised us.
FROM TORONTO,
TO THE WORLD.
Founded as far back as 2007, Synda Fam is a collective of young creatives and entrepreneurs out of Toronto, Canada. Originating in Don Mills and Eglinton, the group set out to lock down a place in the music and fashion industries — an avenue to express creativity and pull members away from the life of crime that was plaguing the community at the time.
Since then, members have made impact in Canada, Mexico, Nigeria and beyond — releasing music both collectively and individually, dropping merch (souvenirs, t-shirts, sweaters, hats, jewelry) and showing the next generation a path that doesn't run through a corner.
In February 2024, Synda Fam Collective became a registered company in Toronto. We re-strategized around governance, marketing, publishing, community service and fundraising — and started hunting for a multi-purpose space to house a new studio for music production & recording, a storefront, a creative-arts studio and an event space.

The Dennis R. Timbrel Resource Center was the first base — a small community project led by the Ontario Science Centre to build a radio broadcast station. That seed grew into a youth-led grassroots project turned non-profit: (FCM).
FCM secured both operational and capital funding from the United Way Youth Challenge Fund, Foresters, and The Jays Foundation. That money went straight to work — a shared-space agreement and partnership with the City of Toronto, building a well-equipped studio and radio station that doubled as a community space for youth and the Guyanese Seniors Association.
From 2007 to 2015, FCM provided studio sessions, music training with partners like the Royal Conservatory of Music, mentorship from industry vets like Ro Dolla, and leadership opportunities for every Synda Fam member who came through. Production, sound engineering, songwriting, performance, community service — sharpened in those rooms before the studio closed in 2015.

- 2007 – 2015Flemo City Media era
The Dennis R. Timbrel Resource Center becomes home base. A youth-led grassroots project evolves into Flemo City Media (FCM), funded by the United Way Youth Challenge Fund, Foresters, and the Jays Foundation. A full studio + radio broadcast station is built in partnership with the City of Toronto, with mentorship from the Royal Conservatory of Music and industry vets like Ro Dolla.

All while strengthening networks across music, entertainment, graphic design, film and fashion so younger creatives in the city have a path to follow.

Master the business — company registration, trademarking, copyrighting, sync licensing, publishing, A&R, ad buying, music release strategies, fundraising — and pass that knowledge back to the community so the next wave doesn't start from zero.
